An Interview with Master Tristan Shae and a Summons to His Concert in Mur Village

Hark! An Interview with Master Tristan Shae, the Minstrel of Mur Village, as chronicled by Eleawen, who didst meet the minstrel at Durakiss upon the West Docks two days ere his forthcoming concert, and a Summons to His Forthcoming Concert

Eleawen: « So Sir Shae, What inspired you to become a bard and dedicate yourself to that art? »

Tristan Shae: « As a younger man, I didn’t have much. However, upon attending a festival, I watched a Bard perform. He was incredible, his voice carrying melodic and powerful. He charmed the crowd in full, summoning laughter or tears on a whim. Men cheered for his jokes or boasts, and women seemed ready to throw themselves upon him with each playful tease he offered. And at the end of his show, the crowd awarded him with a rain of gold. A literal shower of wealth clinking agasint the wood of the stage. I wanted to be like him, so I began to study and refine my own craft. »

Eleawen: « How do you choose or create the stories, legends, and songs you perform? »

Tristan Shae: « Some of my songs are from my own experience, telling stories or deeds, with absolutely no exaggeration whatsoever, obviously. Others, I draw from grand stories or adventures of others I’ve witnessed. And still others come from natural inspiration to paint a theme. A tragic tale, a heroic adventure, a song of affection or love. Many can relate to this in some way or another. »

Eleawen: « What makes tomorrow’s concert unique compared to your other performances? »

Tristan Shae: « Heh, well, I do have some newer songs I’m eager to perform. Including one that I think will spur some spirited discussion regarding Sinfar’s founding. a topic I’ve taken some time to research. The theme of my show will be « The Royal Blunder », and will feature a variety of songs that make make light of royalty, blunders, or both.

Eleawen: « What is your favorite memory from performing as a bard? »

Tristan Shae: « Well, obviously winning contests earns a sense of personal pride; however, I think earning a crowd’s genuine cheers, applause, and laughter is the best part of the job. A ‘favorite’ memory though, might actually be my time teaching at the Mur Village Arcanum School, where I had the opportunity to instruct others who were interested in the art, some of them becoming quite the notable performers in their own right. »

Eleawen: « What message would you like to share with the audience coming to your concert tomorrow? »

Tristan Shae: « A message? Well, come ready to laugh and be entertained. Bring your friends. It’ll be a grand time. »

The Royal Blunder concert shall take place on Sunday at the half past the sixth hour (GMT) in Mur Village, featureth a host of tunes that do make light of royalty, blunders, or both, and the fey jester doth bless the minstrels and mayhap lend his ear to the songs!
