Of a Perilous Journey from Lomidar unto a Ruin’d Land

A first caravan of aid, bound for the stricken lands of Black Lake, did set forth from Lomidar, with three carts laden with provisions. Among its number were folk of Sambrune, Durakiss, and many distant lands besides—aye, even some of no sworn allegiance—united in common purpose to bring relief.

The goods were set upon a river vessel, yet misfortune struck, and the craft was wreck’d at Lanthen Creek. Scarce had the supplies been drawn ashore when the company was set upon by goblins and hobgoblins, fierce and unrelenting, thought by some to bear ties unto the ogres of Orosk.

Through many assaults they stood their ground. A band of the bravest return’d to Lomidar to fetch the carts anew—though one was lost along the way. Laden once more, the caravan press’d onward, harried by enemies and wild denizens of the forest alike.

In the end, though much was lost, two carts did reach Black Lake, borne thither by courage, sacrifice, and the unity of many peoples.

A hard road walk’d together, in hope amidst ruin.
