Opening of The Red Ship Inn in Durakiss

An interview conducted the day after the grand opening, still marked by the presence of Their Majesties

The docks of Durakiss, bathed in the soft light of late morning, still carried echoes of the night before. The festivities had given way to a calm and peaceful atmosphere, yet the energy lingered: a few curious passersby wandered nearby, and traces of a successful opening could be felt in every corner.

Inside The Red Ship Inn, the ambiance remained true to itself—subdued, intimate, almost cocooning. Curtains filtered the daylight into warm golden hues dancing across the dark wooden walls. A faint scent of spices and sea air still lingered. Before a vast aquarium where marine creatures drifted lazily, I find Mrs. Hiromi Kazuko, already at work despite what must have been a short night.

I step carefully between a few occupied tables, where patrons seem to seek quiet after the previous evening’s excitement. Notebook in hand, I approach her with a polite smile.

Eleawen Galadriel Glewenithiel
pulling out her notebook with a slight inclination of the head :
Perfect! Thank you for granting me this interview. How are you today, Mrs. Hiromi?

Hiromi Kazuko
inclines her head gently, composed :
Thank you, I am doing well… and yourself?

Eleawen
Very well, thank you. begins writing
Let us begin—could you tell us about your journey before this project?

Hiromi
pauses thoughtfully
We are speaking about my tavern, correct?

Eleawen
Yes, about your establishment here in Durakiss.

Hiromi
In that case… A long time ago, I purchased a tavern from Rowena, in Mur Village.
It is a peaceful place… perhaps too peaceful for such a venture. So I decided to relocate it here, to Durakiss—a far more lively kingdom.

Eleawen
Have you always lived in Mur Village?

Hiromi
Yes. I still own a house there. It is where I live.

Eleawen
nods
What made you choose Durakiss for this new beginning?

Hiromi
The King and Queen showed interest in my project, which greatly encouraged me.
And most importantly… there is life here. Enough to sustain a tavern.
I also share a personal bond with this place. I have many friends here.

Eleawen
What do you see as the city’s strengths for this kind of establishment?

Hiromi
Durakiss has strong potential. It draws people in, it invites discovery…
Visitors seem eager to explore it—and they enjoy what they find.
And for me… it is more pleasant to build something among familiar faces.

Eleawen
What is the concept behind The Red Ship Inn?

Hiromi
a faint spark lights her eyes
I have always loved the world of sailors… and the myths surrounding piracy.
So I chose to blend both.
she nods softly
To create a place that tells a story.

Eleawen
Did you encounter any difficulties during the opening?

Hiromi
None, truly.
Alak helped me greatly in settling here. It made everything much easier.
I believe I made the right choice.

Eleawen
How did you choose this specific location?

Hiromi
It is close to the docks… the heart of movement. Arrivals, departures…
And soon, the space outside will be arranged with tables to welcome more guests.

Eleawen
What kind of clientele do you hope to attract?

Hiromi
I have no particular preference.
I simply wish to welcome those seeking calm… a peaceful atmosphere.
The lighting is soft, the mood intentionally dim… to enhance that feeling.

Eleawen
What specialties do you offer?

Hiromi
Primarily seafood, in harmony with the location.
As for drinks, I favor island flavors: rum, exotic blends, sweet beverages…

Eleawen
And oriental drinks?

Hiromi
Mostly tea. Not much beyond that.

Eleawen
How would you describe an ideal moment here, now that your tavern has opened?

Hiromi
glances briefly toward the aquarium
A quiet table… friends gathered…
Eyes lost in the movement of the water, accompanied by soft music…
A few laughs, without excess.
Simply a peaceful, pleasant moment.

Eleawen
What are your goals for the coming weeks and months?

Hiromi
To build a loyal clientele.
I am not seeking crowds… but consistency.
People who will return when the tavern opens.

Eleawen
What advice would you give to someone wanting to open a tavern?

Hiromi
Do not be afraid.
Competition exists, but what matters are your loyal patrons.
And above all… consistency.

Eleawen
closes her notebook gently
A final word?

Hiromi
Thank you to Durakiss for giving me this opportunity.
And… I hope that those I may have disappointed will one day find their way here.
They will always be welcome.

Eleawen
smiles warmly
Thank you. I will now take care of writing this article.

Hiromi
Thank you for your interest.
she rises calmly before returning to her work
