Public health concern, an interview with Lara Mattel

Hospital-temple of Ilmater in Durakiss

Arche-Terre is a land no stranger to conflicts and disasters. In that regard, there are various attempts throughout the country to assure a decent service to those in needs of treatments for most kind of wounds or illnesses. Still, the present state of these services have rised up concerns from some citizens amidst the Arche. We had the the opportunity to discuss with one of them: Lara Mattel.

Reporter: Hello miss Mattel, can you please introduce yourself ?

Lara Mattel: Of course. I am Lara Mattel, paladin serving Ilmater.

Reporter: What are you current responsabilities as an illmateri?

Lara Mattel: Ilmateri were and always will be neutral. We tend to those who shuffer, no matter the side they are on. As for me, after moving to Arche-Terre, I decided to offer my skills to all that need it. Either in defense or in healing.

Reporter: So you are not employed by a specific faction in Arche-Terre?

Lara Mattel: I am part of Lomidar but I will remain thoroughly neutral in case of inner strife.

Reporter: What are your concerns regarding the situation with hospitals and clinics in Arche-Terre?

Lara Mattel: From what I’ve seen and heard of, the overall situation is bad. In total, Arche-Terre has exhactly fifteen beds for patients and three healing tubs. Conshidering the population… That is unacceptable. Only Lomidar and Durakiss have these buildings.

Reporter: How would you explain this situation?

Lara Mattel: I cannot explain it, sincerely. Even other plaches outside Arche-Terre lack these and I am dumbfounded by the sheer lack of attention to such important matters. All they build are bars and touristic amenagement for beaches… We need hospitals too.

Reporter: You seem to have a political revendication. Or at least a revendication in the development of infrastructures throughout the islands. What would that be?

Lara Mattel: Politics matter little to me. I only work for the safety of the people of Arche Terre. Of course, politics matter for they drive the cart, but what use ish a cart without itsh wheels.

Reporter: So what kind of decisions are you advocating for?
Lara Mattel: With the conshortium at our doors, and most important decisions made by our queens and kings, all I fight for is a way to treat the ones that fall in this confrontation. Clinics in every major city… Which I can fund from my own pouch if needed. There are not cities without inhabitants, no?
All I need is architects and builders.

Reporter: Some territories in Arche-Terre don’t have in their culture the generalisation of hospitals. Do you want to change that and do you think you can?
Lara Mattel: Indeed… but I will not ever impose to them such. Never the less, if people from those cultures do end up in our hospitals, they will be offered treatment per their decision. We will respect refusals… As painful as that can be.

Reporter: So your current main issue is the lack of architects and builders… A last word you’d want to adress to our readers?
Lara Mattel: Just… Long live Arche!

The call is given, if any good will is willing to help in the construction of more hospitals, the journal will gladly provide assistance to enter in communication with miss Mattel. We’d also like to remind than even if the infrastructures for treating the wounded are scarce, they still need nurses and doctors. Don’t miss on a noble vocation if it’s yours.
